WooCommerce Single Click Upsells Sketch v1.0

Hi, it's Bogdan here.

In this document I want to share with you 2 ways, how you could use Single Click Upsells to increase sales in your WooCommerce store (or your client's one, if you are the developer).

Here is the usual process customer goes through in your WooCommerce store. And why it sucks?

1. Your customer finds the product which he was looking for. Places it into his "virtual cart".

2. Then he goes to the shopping cart page or straight to the checkout page, where he fills in his shipping info.

If you are using the default WooCommerce upsell and cross-sell features, you already know that customer will see these offers, only if he goes to the shopping cart page to review his cart before payment.

And this method sucks. You could ask me: "Why?".

Reason 1: Most of your customers will probably ignore this whole block visually, because that's out of their focus.

Reason 2: You want to give the most value to the buying customers, who are willing to pay, and already buying something. You give them an ability to buy, what they want, then make a complementary offer to the thing they bought.

3. Then he goes through the actual payment process.

4. And finally, his purchase is completed and he is on "Thank you" page or "Order received" page.

Conclusion: You are losing at least 30% of your possible revenue, as a result of not using straight upsell and downsell offers.

Interesting fact: back in 2006 Amazon reported that 35% of its revenue were a direct result of it's cross sales and upselling efforts.

And here is the improved process customer will through in your WooCommerce store, if you use Single Click Upsell plugin.

You could organize it in 2 ways.

First option is the straight way to offer upsells or downsells to your customer after his purchase.

Assuming that in the example below, I have the main product, which is iPod Touch.

And I also have 2 complementing accessories for it: "Sporty Armband for iPod" and "Transparent Protective Case for iPod" to protect the gadget.

I used Single Click Upsell plugin to setup the upsell funnel for the iPod Touch, which consists of:

And also I setup the second one to be offered to the customer, whether he accepts or declines the first offer. You can setup this differenly.

Here's what the improved purchase process looks like.

1. Your customer finds the product which he was looking for. Places it into his "virtual cart".

2. Then he goes to the shopping cart page or straight to the checkout page, where he fills in his shipping info.

3. Then he proceeds to the payment processor, pays for this order and goes back to your store.

4. After that, he is shown the first upsell offer you configured.

If he clicks "Buy Now", the new order is created and payed using the info, that customer already used in the previous step.

Then, anyway, he goes to the second offer.

If he clicks "No, thanks", he also goes to the second downsell offer. Again, you can change it, if you want to. Add another offer or leave only one.

5. Next, he is shown the second offer.

If he clicks "Buy Now", another new order is created and payed using the info, customer already used previously. Then he gets to the "Thank you" page.

If he clicks "No, thanks", he goes straight to the "Thank you" page.

6. Finally, he gets to "Thank you" page or "Order received" page, where is info on all of his orders is displayed.

Second option is a bit more gentle, but still very effective way to offer Single Click Upsell offers to your customer.

The only difference from the first option is that customer gets the offers on "Thank you" page or "Order received" page, not on the separate page.

1. He finds the thing that he was looking for.

2. Adds that thing to his cart.

3. Goes to the shopping cart page or straight to the checkout page, where he fills his shipping info.

4. Then he goes through the actual payment process.

5. And finally, he is on the "Thank you" page or "Order received" page on your site.

6. Here he gets info on his payed order. And the row of your upsell offers.

When he clicks on the "Buy Now" button, the new order will be created and payed automatically behind the scenes. The "Thank you" page or "Order received" page will be reloaded and info about the new order will be added to the existing info.
